Lobelia cardinalis

Lobelia cardinalis comes from North America.

In the nursery, this plant is cultivated in swampy conditions, forming dark green leaves with purple underneath.

In aquariums, the leaves take on a beautiful light green hue, with stems measuring 10 to 30 cm in height and 5 to 10 cm in width.

It is commonly used in "Dutch Style" aquariums in what are called "plant streets".

In open aquariums, it grows above the water's surface, where it forms beautiful scarlet flowers.
