Aponogeton madagascariensis

Aponogeton madagascariensis is a bulbous plant from Madagascar and is a specialty in botanical gardens around the world.

The bulb can be covered with the bottom layer, provided that the tip of the sprout is on the surface of the soil.

Aponogeton madagascariensis is so demanding in terms of water and substrate quality that it can only be recommended as a solitary plant in large, specialized aquariums where the water is frequently changed. Nutritional capsules significantly enhance its growth.

There are several varieties, with different leaf structures and widths, and sizes ranging from 25-50 cm.
